Julien Delval is perhaps most well known for his beautiful and exquisitely detailed illustrations that appear on many fantasy book covers for adults and teens. Julien is also a sought-after illustrator for board games, which is how this particular puzzle came to be. Malédiction was originally the cover art for a now out-of-print game by Alea-Ravensburger in Germany. The timely resuscitation of this thematic cover art seemed a perfect fit for a Halloween-themed puzzle.
Whimsies for this puzzle are themed around sorcery, alchemy and creatures associated with Halloween. Clever puzzlers may also find all the necessary "ingredients" to make their own Feature Creature!
More information about Julien Delval can be found at his blog and at the Bureau 21 Gallerie website.

Malediction by Julien
We absolutely love your puzzles. We received our first one from our son, then we bought one for ourselves, then bought one for our son-in-law. We are all hooked on these puzzles and trade them with our family.
Fantastic Puzzle!
I love that the picture is so clear, and found it more challenging since the colours are similar on most peices. I will definitely enjoy redoing this puzzle in the future.
Stunning artwork
An intriguing and mysterious picture with so much detail and ‘goings on’. Super whimsies - and well worth turning the puzzle over on completion to have a good look at the,. Again - the special wooden box makes it a real extra joy to keep and make again and again…
Enjoyed every piece
My wife and I visited the store purely by chance one day in August. We found ourselves in the area and couldn't quite make out what was in the front window. It looked like an art store. We were drawn in and immediately realized we'd stumbled onto something magnificent. My wife got me a puzzle for my birthday (Nov) and two more for our granddaughters for Christmas. The one I got was Malediction. Every piece exudes the overall theme. The collection of symbols and silouettes is nonstop. We had fun from beginning to end. Just when you think that a certain piece will be easy to fit, bam, you realize later that every piece seems that way -- but isn't. Quality of materials and quality of art make these puzzles worth every cent, right down to the box they come in. This is one puzzle I will be leaving in my will, but before then, I will do my darnedest to wear it out.
