The Skyline Was Beautiful on Fire by Steve Driscoll
Artist: Steve Driscoll

Steve's amazingly beautiful aurora borealis serves as inspiration for this constellation, night sky and space object themed puzzle. The stars and constellations one would typically see around Algonquin Park in November act as the backbone to the pattern of whimsies woven into the puzzle. Hobbyist astronomers may have a distinct advantage in solving this puzzle!

The Skyline was beautiful
Wonderful colours! The shapes matched the constellations and where they would be in the sky so it was very cleverly designed. Lots of fun to do!
The Northern Lights Come to Life
This was the first Stump Craft puzzle that I have done. While I have been doing jigsaw puzzles my whole life, when I first opened the box and poked through the pieces, I was awed and overwhelmed at the same time by the color and shapes. It took me a week of looking at and handling the different pieces before I got up the courage to start putting the puzzle together. And what a joy it was! Not only is each piece unique in its color and shape, the way that they fit together is so satisfying. And it is also so much fun to find all the whimsy pieces too. The completed puzzle itself is a work of art - the colors so rich and vibrant. These puzzles are truly keepers - to be shared with other puzzle lovers and to do again and again!

This was my first Stumpcraft and to be honest, I did not know what to think when I spread the pieces out on the table except the smell of the wood pieces was amazing. Other than that, "what have I gotten myself into" is what crossed my mind! As I began matching up pieces, I started to notice some resembling constellations, rocket ships, etc...the wonderful click sound of the wood coming together was so rewarding. I quickly realized that my traditional puzzle process of sorting and borders first was pointless but instead took me through a different journey that in the end was completely engaging. Quality and craftsmanship was outstanding. No distracting loose or false fits to deal with.

This was our first StumpCraft puzzle. We enjoyed the challenge and loved the many imaginatively cut and vibrant puzzle pieces. This is definitely a puzzle we will do again! Looking forward to adding more StumpCraft puzzles to our growing wood puzzle collection.
