When Package Protection Suddenly Makes a Lot of Sense

When Package Protection Suddenly Makes a Lot of Sense

Posted by Shivani Stacey on

You know the moment. You’re at checkout, reviewing your cart, ready to place your order… and then package protection appears. It’s easy to overlook—another small charge, another box to check.

You might think: Do I really need this? My packages usually arrive just fine.

And most of the time, that’s exactly what happens. Orders arrive safely, boxes look great, and everything goes according to plan. But every now and then, a package decides to write its own story.

A Puzzle That Took the Scenic Route

Recently, a StumpCraft shipment was returned to us by a well-known courier, looking like it had been on quite the journey.

Inside was a $175 puzzle that had gone missing in transit for over a year. Yes—over a year. Somewhere along the way, it disappeared into the logistics wilderness before eventually resurfacing and finding its way back home.

Why Package Protection Matters

Thankfully, the customer had selected Package Protection at checkout. Because of that, as soon as the shipment was identified as missing, we were able to send a replacement puzzle right away—at no additional cost. There was no need to wait for the original package to be recovered.

Without protection, the process can be much slower and far less certain, often requiring carrier investigations before anything is resolved.

Peace of Mind from Checkout to Delivery

Package Protection ensures your order is covered if something unexpected happens along the way. While most shipments arrive exactly as they should, protection is there for the rare situations no one plans for—delays, damage, loss, or a package that takes the scenic route.

The Bottom Line

We want every StumpCraft order to arrive quickly, safely, and ready for the table. But if one ever chooses a more adventurous path, it’s reassuring to know you’re covered—and that we can make it right without delay.
